We are located on the shores of Lake Thompson, in south-central South Dakota. Since the early 1950's, hunters have enjoyed exceptional hunting at the Wells' Farm in a variety of different cover. We specialize in offering a quality hunting experience for everyone from the first time hunter to a hunting veteran.

We take pride in offering a quality hunt, and it shows with the number of return groups. Many groups have returned for 10, 15, or 20 years. We also look forward to new groups each year. We don't just offer a pheasant hunt, but rather a great hunt, beautiful scenery and an evening of relaxation by one of South Dakota's largest natural lakes.

If you are looking for a fancy and expensive hunt, we are not the place for you. We are affordable, enjoyable and laid back hunting fun.

The preserve season runs from September 1 to March 31, sunrise to sunset with a daily limit of 15 birds. Out of state hunters need only purchase a preserve license or an out-of-state license.

Lodging is available onsite in three separate facilities located by the lake. The Pheasant Nest Game Room houses a pool table, card playing tables and of course satellite TV to catch those important ballgames. Lodging packages include three home style meals per day.
